Inspiration

In the 19 years since we've had kids, Kim and I have been lucky (stubborn) enough to have a nightly family dinner more often than not.  Dinner conversations are where I've always felt closest to my kids and where I think I've enjoyed my best laughs with them.  The conversation rarely gets too serious.  How could it between Burqa Boy's frequent appearances, stories of Mrs. Machado, Antoine Dodson references, edited play-by-plays of Richard and Sal's latest prank phone calls on The Howard Stern Show, and the latest round of "If Your Last Name is ___, Don't Name Your Kid ___?"

For the past year, during those dinner conversation, I've been threatening to start a blog.  Maybe it's because Hannah was going off to school and wouldn't be around for dinner.  Maybe it's because I've always wanted to write.  Maybe it's because I think my thoughts are so darn profound that I owe it to you to share them.  In any event, I've decided to give it a try.  Who knows how long I'll stick with it?  Hopefully, longer than I did with the guitar.

I'm not sure how often I'll post.  And, I'm only going to post on things that interest me like politics, music, business life, the neighborhood, family, celebrity and entertainment gossip, and sports.  In other words, pretty much any topic is fair game.

I'm enjoying it already.
